A Message from Chief Rich Ferguson
On behalf of the men and women of the Draper Police Department, I would like to welcome you to our department’s web page. We hope you will visit often for information on the services and programs our police department provides.
Draper PD serves a community of approximately 51,000 residents and covers an area of roughly 30 square miles. The department operates 24-hours a day, seven days per week. In 2022, our department grew with an additional seven police officer positions, bringing our total number of sworn officers to 51, with 16 civilian staff members, and 44 part-time crossing guards.
Our personnel are dedicated to serving this community with integrity, compassion, and respect. We implement best practices and training. We pride ourselves on providing professional police service, keeping our neighborhoods free from crime and the fear of crime, and safeguarding the civil liberties of all.
July 1, 2023 marks our 20th year as a department and we are eager to share in celebration as we highlight or past success and look to a bright future.
We look forward to continuing to serve the residents and guests of our city.
